There are no such number of healing springs as in Marianske Lazne anywhere else in the Czech Republic. About 40 underground streams come to the surface directly within the city, and there are about a hundred in the vicinity. The waters in them are cold, unlike in Karlovy Vary, but at the same time they are so useful and diverse in composition that sometimes just one drink is enough to achieve a tangible result.

Marianske Lazne holds the brand of a prestigious balneological resort. Hospitals and colonnades in the neoclassical and Empire style are concentrated in the center of the town among beautiful parks. In terms of the number of distinguished guests who came here to visit the waters, the health resort is not inferior to Karlovy Vary.

Treatment and recovery

The springs of the Marianske Lazne resort are cold and very different in composition. It is rare for water containing calcium bicarbonate, magnesium, sulfur, or sodium to rise to the surface in a small area. It provides a unique opportunity to achieve the necessary results only by drinking water from different sources.

Architecture and interesting places

The singing fountain is the main decoration of Marianske Lazne. Every odd hour, classical melodies delight the ears of all those gathered at the central colonnade of the city. And in the evening, the music is accompanied by a mesmerizing dance of colorful lights.

The elegant Baroque colonnade is another embellishment of the Marianske Lazne resort. A monument to the Czech spa industry, the colonnade is decorated with frescoes and bronze reliefs.

The Orthodox Church of St. Vladimir in Mariansk-Lazne impresses with its rich interior decoration. His pride is a unique ceramic iconostasis, which won the Grand Prix in Paris at the beginning of the last century.

The Bohemian Park on the outskirts of Marianske Lazne represents the Czech Republic in miniature. It contains copies of the most famous architectural monuments of the country in their original form. Open: April–November from 10:00 to 17:30. The ticket price is 60 CZK.

Guided tours in Mariansk-Lazne

Lazne Kinzhvart (about 25 km from Marianske Lazne) is a small resort town with a beautiful castle. Inside the castle, it is interesting to see a collection of antique coins, medals, weapons, and porcelain.

Cheb is an ancient town 30 km from Marianske Lazne. The elegant historical center of the city is decorated with a Romanesque-style palace, as well as buildings in the Gothic, Baroque and Renaissance styles.

Nature

The Smradekh Nature Reserve is a unique peat bog near Marianske Lazne. A walk along the scientific trail of the reserve is an opportunity to admire mud volcanoes, rare plants and gas emissions on the Green Lake.

What to do

The entertainment program of the Marianske Lazne resort includes visits to concert halls, music salons, art galleries and trips to the theater. Fans of fun will not pass by gaming clubs, discos or casinos.

Shopping

A shopping trip in Mariansk Lazne is a great opportunity to buy cosmetics and other products based on local mineral waters. A good gift brought from the resort will be a line of beer-based hair care products. Prices in the town are not as high as in Karlovy Vary, but still higher than in Prague.

Public transport in Marianske Lazne consists of buses and trolleybuses. They run strictly according to the schedule, which is posted at all stops. You can enter the interior of buses and trolleybuses only through the front door, where the ticket office is located. The fare will cost 12 CZK for adults and 6 CZK for children from 6 to 15 years old.
